This pretty Japanese paper has igeta patterns, small light gray crosses tinging with water green on a dark green background .

Igeta is written with 2 ideograms: 井桁. The first means well (water) and the second beam, which designates a well head, formed of 4 cross beams. Now, this denotes this grid pattern, including the hash (our pound sign): #.
