Nani Iro fabrics by Naomi Ito
After sowing paper flowers all over the store and on Instagram, here I am looking at Nani Iro fabrics with floral patterns. I discovered them a few years ago, when they were published by Kokka and since then I have admired his collections.
I find these beautiful Japanese fabrics designed by artist and designer Naomi Ito to be truly unique. Nature is one of its main sources of inspiration for the 2015 collection, which puts flowers in the spotlight. The drawings seem freehand and there are small pearly details. Here and there, a bird appears among the flowers… I love it! The color combinations are very delicate and subtle. It almost looks like watercolor, it is also thanks to this technique that Naomi Ito works her textile patterns.
In double gauze or flannel, they are very soft and perfect for making cushions, tops or colorful accessories. Personally, I also use them to make pouches and kits.
For the moment, we have around 5 references of Nani Iro fabrics in store and on the site , but the collection should expand very soon, with floral patterns but also more graphic ones.
