Mademoiselle Tika’s Upcycled Creations

I am back today with this short blog post to introduce you to the upcycled creations made with our Japanese papers. by Karine Thiboult-Demessence (or MademoiselleTika on Instagram) and maybe inspire you with some colorful projects!

If I wanted to present Karine's work to you in a little more detail, it's because she manages to sublimate the most banal object into a colorful decorative element: a tin can becomes a pretty pencil holder, for example!

In reality, you only need a few materials to customize any surface to your liking: paper, a pair of scissors, a paintbrush, some glue, and that's it! Imagination does the rest. Materials are one of the elements that are at the heart of Karine's inspiration: earth, wood, fabric, and in this case, paper!

Karine recycles, tinkers, and explores the different possibilities available to her with the material she chooses. To never run out of ideas, she always keeps a small notebook handy to write down, draw, and scribble down things that have caught her attention or sparked an interest in her...

After graduating from Fine Arts and fashion school, Karine went on to work as a fashion and interior design journalist. Since the 2000s, she has collaborated extensively on creative projects for print media and publishing houses. Perhaps you've already come across her work in your reading?

There are many possibilities for customizing Japanese paper! I invite you to discover all our articles on the subject on the blog. (keyword: customization ) if you want to get started. I recommend in particular:

Don’t hesitate to follow Karine on her Instagram account ( @mademoiselletika ) to discover more about her work!

I hope this article has inspired you!

See you soon for new creative articles,

Adeline
