DIY Origami: Colorful tits!
Summer is already well behind us! To preserve some beautiful colors for these fall and winter months, I really wanted to share with you this colorful origami chickadee bird tutorial, easy to make.
I have pleasant memories of family vacations around this pretty DIY! After making lots of little origami tits, we took out our palettes and our paint tubes to delicately decorate these adorable folds and thus form a flock of colorful birds!
Holidays are ideal for creative activities and it is not uncommon for me to take colored pencils, watercolors, etc. with me. This tutorial can brighten up a vacation afternoon. I therefore offer you throughout this article, in addition to folding the origami tit, some colorful inspiration for decorating your birds.
To initially practice this folding, you can use squares of paper measuring 15cm by 15cm from the Japanese brand Toyo . With two sides, colored on one side and white on the other, they are perfect for practicing origami and easily following the different steps of a tutorial! It is a paper that marks folds well and is ideal for learning origami.
For the final creation of your tits, I advise you to use paper from the Japanese brand Ogawa which is very pleasant to paint.
With its slightly fibrous texture, it is easy to paint and the paint glides on effortlessly.
Now it's time to get your squares of Japanese paper. Here is the origami chickadee tutorial! It is a relatively simple folding to make, available in different sizes.
This folding is taken from my latest origami book published by Marabout:
Book “Origami as if by magic” . It brings together 50 adorable folds, classified in order of difficulty. Designed to be as accessible and fun as possible, this book details each folding with photos and drawings (for the most complex steps).
When it comes to customizing your tits, let your imagination run wild! Don't hesitate to vary patterns and colors to create pretty colorful tits that can delicately decorate a birthday table centerpiece for example.
To find out more about this origami book, you can find the article: About my new book, "Origami as by magic" published at the time of its release, it is almost 2 years old now (which time flies !).
